Welcome to the Academy

Harrisburg University of Science and Technology and the Center for Advanced Entertainment and Learning Technologies is now accepting applications for the 2013 Summer Game Academy!

The Summer Game Academy is an intensive summer program designed to introduce passionate young game designers and developers to the methods and processes used by professional game makers throughout the world. The program focuses on all aspects of the creative process from ideation to problem-solving to delivery. Students will develop skills and strategies to prepare them for a future in the digital media industry.

This year we’ve made some exciting changes. First, we now have a Residence Camp which will provide an opportunity to for students who live outside of the Central PA area to experience our unique program. Second, we are offering a 1 week Commuter Camp in Philadelphia! Finally, we now grant two HU college credits to students who successfully complete any of our camps! To learn more about this, check out the Session Information page and the Student Page page.

Students between the ages of 15 and 18 wishing to expand their artistic or programming skills should attend this unique program. The Summer Game Academy is an immersive experience designed for high school students interested in video games, interactive simulations, new media, and/or the digital arts. Students attending the program will be enrolled in “Exploring Video Games” a 100-level college course available only in the summer academy format.
