InnoSpark, a non for profit corporation registered in Pennsylvania, has been established by University’s Entrepreneur in Residence to provide mentoring and seed capital for Harrisburg University affiliated students, alumni and friends to start and expand value added, entrepreneurial companies in the Central Pennsylvania region. This activity will be discussed during the 2013 graduation period, May 8-10, by the Entrepreneur in Residence, Prof Edgar Harrell, the 2012 MGMT 580 class and interested faculty and students. Mr. Joyce has been President of Versatile Mobile Systems, Inc., Versatile Mobile Systems (Europe) Limited and Perfect Order Acquisition Corporation of Versatile Mobile Systems Canada Inc. Mr. Joyce has responsibility for overseeing global operations on behalf of Versatile group. Mr. Joyce was previously the President and CEO of Perfect Order from 1998 to 2004. During this period, sales grew from US$15 million to more than US$50 million. Currently, Mr. Joyce sits on the Board of Directors of Harrisburg University.

Mr. Bill Kratze, Chief Interactive Architect

Mr. Kratze’s expertise includes server and rich client side java technology, web technology (javascript, html5, css), and mobile technology (ios, and mobile web). He loves working with Linux, UNIX, and MacOSX. His other areas of interest include Big Data (NoSQL and Hadoop) and mobile application design.

HU to Sponsor Affiliated Entrepreneurs!!

HU Entrepreneur Club Advisor, Prof Edgar Harrell, and Michael Hund, Esq., Partner, McNees  Wallace & Nurick, LLC, established a PA. registered non for profit corporation, InnoSpark, Inc, to provide mentoring assistance and initial start-capital to HU affiliated entrepreneurs including students. Application forms and procedures are being drafted.

Founder Institute, San Francisco, will graduate a new class of training of start-up company CEOs on February 4, 2013. Harrisburg University is a sponsor of the Founder Institute Washington DC program. Ten participants in that session met for a full day at HU with students in MGMT 580 class on New Models of Innovation on December 1, 2012 to share business ideas and practice pitches to potential investors.

Parking Solution Provider Streetline Gets $25M Investment

Streetline, a Foster City, Calif.-based company that works directly with cities to embed sensors in parking spaces, is announcing today that it has closed $25 million in Series C financing led by True Ventures and Qualcomm Ventures, on top of $15 million it raised a year ago.
